Also Bikol ábo ‘a fish, the grouper: Epinephelus undulosus’, Malay ikan ambu-ambu ‘bonito fish: Thynnus tunnina’, Kamarian apu ‘fish sp.’. Banjarese habu ‘young of the murrel (very small, like a fleck of ash): Ophiocephalus striatus)’ evidently reflects *qabu ‘ash’, and the same may be true of the present comparison.
