Also Casiguran Dumagat lindul ‘earthquake’, Sundanese lindu ‘earthquake’, ka-lindu-an ‘be struck by an earthquake’, Bare'e líndugi ‘earthquake; also the name of the spirit that causes earthquakes’. It is unclear from the evidence found so far whether POc had *lidruR or *ridruR. Ross, Pawley and Osmond (2003) do not include this term in their treatment of the POc vocabulary for the natural environment, and cite Mota rir under Proto-North-Central Vanuatu *ruru ‘to shake; earthquake’.
