PAn *paqa clearly meant ‘thigh’, and this term has been preserved both in Wolio, and in a number of CMP languages. PMP *kelen has been generalized to this meaning in both Tetun and Buruese, but evidently referred instead to the inner thigh or groin area where the thigh joins the trunk. The comparison is completely problem-free, but its distribution is remarkably thin.
